This PPD installer is used to install a PPD(Postscript Printer Description) file on Mac OSX. PPD files containdescriptions of printer capabilities such as paper sizes, number ofinput trays and duplexing.
Once the PPD file is installed on thesystem using the PPD installer, the PS driver that comes bundled withMac OS X can use the information in the PPD to control the print deviceand enable full functionality.
